Dr. Johann Krüger is a leading cataract surgeon based in Cape Town, with over 30 years of surgical experience in advanced laser eye surgery, cataract procedures, corneal transplants, refractive surgery, and glaucoma treatment.
Since founding his first clinic in 1993, Dr. Krüger has earned a reputation as a pioneer in refractive surgery in South Africa and a leader in patient-centred vision restoration.
Innovator in Eye Surgery and Vision Technology
Dr. Krüger was among the first ophthalmologists in South Africa to perform ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) procedures and to introduce Excimer laser eye surgery alongside Prof. Venter.
In 2016, he introduced IRPL (Intense Regulated Pulsed Light) therapy to South Africa – a revolutionary non-invasive treatment for chronic dry eye syndrome caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD).
